Call us to find out more about our Venus Legacy package deals!
Venus Freeze and Venus Legacy are non-invasive treatments that combines Radio Frequency (RF) and Magnetic Pulses into a technology called (MP)². This unique combination has the ability to access deeply, comfortably, and safely into the skin in order to achieve optimum results
Venus treatments are effective in circumference reduction, improving cellulite, skin tightening and reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Our Promise is to provide you with a safe, pleasant, pain-free experience in treatments for the body and face parts including arms, abdomen, thighs, buttocks, neck and face.
Age-related changes to skin elasticity or a genetic tendency can leave you with sagging skin and/or noticeable cellulite. We all know that these occurrences affect your confidence and self-esteem. At Orlando Dermatology, the office of Farooq Lateef, MD, we use a special technology called the Venus Legacy to smooth and shape the skin, reducing the appearance of cellulite int the process.
Cellulite occurs when fat deposits push through connective tissue in your skin, giving off a pocket-like or orange-peel appearance. Everyone, from the very thin to overweight, can experience cellulite. However, women are significantly more likely than men to have cellulite, according to the Mayo Clinic. The Venus Legacy is a treatment that uses heat, pulsations, radio frequency waves and magnetic pulse therapy to reduce cellulite’s appearance.
Here are some frequently asked questions about the Venus Legacy.
What does the Venus Legacy treat?
The treatment process for the Venus Legacy starts with a consultation at Orlando Dermatology, which serves Orlando, Windermere, and nearby areas. You can discuss your skin concerns with Dr. Lateef so he can determine if the Venus Legacy is the best option for you.
Examples of common skin concerns the Venus Legacy treats include:
- Cellulite
- Loose Skin
- Stretch Marks
While these conditions may sound varied, the Venus Legacy smoothes skin and stimulates the growth of collagen, an elastic fiber that reduces wrinkling. The technology can be used on virtually any part of the body, including the face, stomach, thighs, and neck.
How Does the Venus Legacy work?
The Venus Legacy is a handheld, wand-like device with small, smooth metal attachments on the end. The treatment combines a number of effective methods in smoothing skin and encouraging collagen production. These include radio frequency and magnetic pulses. When the wand is moved over areas of wrinkled and dimpled skin, the following occurs:
- Penetrates the skin’s surface to reach well below and stimulate cell growth
- Stimulates collagen and elastin production to tighten skin
- Improves blood flow to dermal blood vessels, bringing vital nutrients and oxygen to the skin to improve the skin’s appearance
- Induces lipolysis, or the destruction of fat pockets in the skin, this reducing the appearance of cellulite
Also, the Venus Legacy generates heat, which helps collagen fibers contract and make the skin noticably tighter almost immediately.
Does the Venus Legacy hurt?
The Venus Legacy is in some ways similar to treatments like microdermabrasion and chemical peels that aim to smooth skin. Unlike these treatments however, the Venus Legacy used at Orlando Dermatology, is not associated with discomfort during the procedure. Instead, the treatment’s warmth and skin stimulation often feels more like a relaxing deep-tissue massage than a skin treatment.
What are LiftFX & SculptFX?
These treatments deliver Multipolar Radio Frequency and Magnetic Pulse Therapy to the skin to produce a dense and uniform heat matrix. This causes synthesis and contraction, fibroblast proliferation, neo-vascularity, and lypolysis.
What are the immediate clinical results following a treatment with (MP)²?
When collagen fibers in the skin are exposed to heat (as during treatment), their structure is modified and they immediately contract, making the skin tighter. This effect is noticeable upon completion of the first treatment, and is usually enhanced more in the body than in the face area.
What are long term clinical results following a series with (MP)²?
The combination of Radio Frequency and Magnetic Pulses catalyzes an increase in the production of collagen and elastin fibers, as well as new dermal blood vessels. This effect, along with the inducement of lipolysis, brings about a healthy looking, smoother skin with improved elasticity and texture. Cellulite and circumferential reduction may also be seen, following the 3rd treatment.
How many sessions are required in order to get good clinical results?
Generally, the recommended number of treatment sessions is 6-8 for the face and 8-10 for the body. However, the number of treatments may vary depending on the client’s characteristics.
How Long Does the Venus Legacy Treatment Take?
While the total treatment time may vary depending on the area treated, the average treatment time for the Venus Legacy at Orlando Dermatology is 30 minutes. The treatment is no associated with any recovery/downtime process and Dr. Lateef’s patients can return to work or school in Orlando or Windermere immediately.
When Can I Expect Results?
You can expect to see some results almost immediately. Your skin may appear tighter and smoother. However, the long-term results of new collagen and elastin growth may take a few weeks to see.
What is the temperature difference between the skin’s surface and the internal layers?
The temperature beneath the skin surface is homogenous, and is about 10ºC higher than the temperature on the skin surface.
How does (MP)² reach the fat cell?
The fat cells in the skin are located in the hypodermis, about 8mm beneath the skin surface. (MP)²’s penetration depth of up to 28mm enables it to exert its effect on fat cells.
What is the impact of (MP)² on fat cells?
(MP)² raises the temperature of the treated area, and includes lipolysis–enzyme-mediated breakdown of triglycerides into glycerol and free fatty acids. These fatty acids pass from the fat cell into the bloodstream, and the volume of the cell is reduced. The fatty acids may be metabolized by various cells in the body, or restored again as triglycerides in fat cells.
Is there any effect on water content of the cells?
The water content is not effected.
How effective is the magnetic pulse component of the (MP)² and what scientific evidence is there to support it?
It is well documented that magnetic pulse has a positive effect on wound healing, creation of new small blood vessels (angiogenesis) and collagen production. These clinical effects have been evident in clinical trials. Furthermore, this non-invasive therapy was approved by the FDA as a safe and effective technology for medical use. The (MP)² uses this technology to dramatically improve skin appearance, via inducement of angiogenesis and collagen production.
What is the effectiveness of the (MP)² compared to a 400W RF system?
A 400W device uses mono-polar Radio Frequency and necessitates the use of an active cooling to avoid skin burns. The system’s Octi-polar hand-piece deploys much less power, since its 8 poles work very efficiently and generate focused and homogenous heat with no need of cooling aid and no risk of skin burns.
What is the nature of the synergy between Magnetic Pulse (MP)² and Radio Frequency (RF)?
The (MP)² induces the production of collagen via two synergistic mechanisms – the MP component induces proliferation of fibroblasts, which in turn produces collagen, and the RF component creates a controlled thermal damage, and initiates a wound-healing process that involves production of collagen. The result is a significant increase in collagen production.
